Needing guidance?

In addition to therapy, I also provide consultation services for therapists.

My consultation comprises both clinical and practice building elements, dependent on a person’s needs.

Individual Consultation

Individual consultations are one-on-one, virtual, and scheduled as needed. Consultation is not intended as a 101 level training, and is not a replacement for supervision for licensure or ongoing continuing education.

I provide both Clinical Consultation and Practice Building Consultation.

Clinical Consultation is a good fit for:

  • Therapists who want in depth case consultation, and to receive focused feedback and support
  • Therapists who want specialized guidance on how to best support their LGBTQ+ clients
  • Therapists who have basic knowledge about neurodivergence but want to learn more about autism and ADHD
  • Therapists seeking general supervision services from a compassionate, candid, and experienced therapist

Practice Building Consultation is a good fit for:

  • Therapists starting their private pay and telehealth based private practices
  • Therapists in private practive seeking guidance navigating business owner and administrative roles, including fee setting and policy creation
  • LGBTQ+ therapists navigating their identity in the context of being a therapist or a private practice owner

Standard Consultation Fee:

$160 for a 55 minute session

Pay What You Make Fee:

It is important to me to help improve access to quality consultation for therapists. If you are unable to afford the standard consultation fee, I offer a pay-what-you-make option. In this case, the consultation fee will be what your own hourly rate is.

Group Consultation

Group consultations are provided virtually to a group of clinicians, such as for a group practice. This service comprises a unique combination of training and group supervision, personalized to the needs of each group.

Group consultations are provided with a focus on gender identity & sexuality, and working with LGBTQ+ clients. They are suited for therapists working in any setting, whether or not they specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients. I will do preliminary work to identify the needs of the group, and also provide an anonymous way to submit questions prior to the group consultation.

Whether there's a term you're unfamiliar with, something logistical you don't understand, or you want to grapple with a specific case, I'm here to help! Consider where you have felt confusion, gaps in your knowledge, or have wondered whether you've said the right thing.

We all work with LGBTQ+ clients, regardless of our specialities. Group consultations are a great resource to help ensure therapists are receiving LGBTQ+ affirming training and supervision, in order to provide good quality care to all clients. I’d love to collaborate with group practice owners and others to discuss how I can support your therapists.

Consultation is not intended as an introductory training, and is not a replacement for supervision for licensure or ongoing continuing education.

Fees for Group Consultation: $200 for a one hour group consultation

Relevant Information on Working with Me

I have lived experience as a queer person, as well as 12 years in various leadership, training, and supervisory roles.

  • 12 years post graduate degree
  • 7 years of providing various LGBTQ+ 101 trainings at agencies throughout the Hudson Valley
  • 7 years providing leadership & supervision in an interdisciplinary team including therapists and caseworkers
  • 6 years in private practice
  • 5 years of supervising BSW interns
  • 3 years teaching at the college level

Additionally, I participate in my own ongoing learning, including required continuing education as well as other intentional professional development. I continue to actively participate in various peer supervision groups, and seek paid supervision, consultation, & business coaching as needed.

All of these efforts allow me to continue clinical learning and stay aware of best practices as a therapist and private practice owner, while maintaining my own personal connection to queer and trans community and culture.

A Note on Lived Experience & Emotional Labor

I encourage folks to seek consultation with therapists of lived experience whenever possible, which means that while I have extensive experience working with trans & non-binary clients, I am happy to point you in the direction of trans & non-binary therapists who provide consultation in this area.

Marginalized & oppressed folks, including gender & sexual minorities, are often tokenized and expected to be the “go to” regarding their specific identity, which results in unpaid labor. It is important to compensate people for their expertise and experience, and also important to seek this from people who have a desire to provide these consultations.
