Hi! I’m Heather.

I’m really glad you’re here!

I’m a clinical social worker & therapist with over a decade of experience doing this work.

After working at a local organization for six years, I started and grew my private practice in Poughkeepsie, New York, in 2018. Then, in the Spring of 2020, I moved to the Chippewa Valley in Wisconsin, and became licensed there. I began to work with individuals throughout Wisconsin while continuing to work with clients located in New York state, through telehealth. I remain connected to the community & resources that both areas have to offer.

In March 2026, I relocated to Ontario, Canada, and took on a role at Blueprint Counselling. I am pursuing my Registered Social Worker registration, and look forward to working with clients in Ontario. While I am no longer in private practice, I am grateful to be able to continue to work with clients located in Wisconsin and New York, through my new position at Blueprint Counselling.

I am an integrative talk therapist. This means that I don’t use just one style of therapy and am often able to adjust to a client’s needs. While I spend lots of time listening, my clients describe my approach as conversational. We discuss what’s going on in your life together, and I make observations and ask questions to help guide our work. When needed, we may also work on skills and strategies—and then work through the things that get in the way.

In addition to integrative talk therapy, I also incorporate an IFS-informed parts work approach, and use Exposure & Response Prevention therapy (or ERP), for clients struggling with OCD. My approach is patient, compassionate, collaborative, and creative. As with anything in therapy, the use of these types of therapy is always consent-based.

In addition to being a therapist, I’m a fan of the Office, memes, taking walks, true crime podcasts, and plants. Sometimes I have purple hair.

There’s no toxic positivity here, but there is hope.

I believe that therapy is a relationship.

Because of this, it’s really important that a client feels comfortable. If my style doesn’t meet your needs, I will happily share names of colleagues who might be a better fit!
And if you’re looking for a therapist who strictly practices a particular type of therapy, such as CBT or EMDR, I’m happy to point you in the right direction!

Social justice issues & intersectionality are integral to my work.

As a queer person & a social worker, I know how hard it is to find therapists who work with LGBTQ+ folks on purpose and with intention,
rather than as a passing happenstance. The majority of my caseload is comprised of LGBTQ+ folks.

I’m happy to answer any questions and speak to you by phone before scheduling a first session.
